about me

mine is not the story of a typical florist.  my mother was not a gardener – we didn’t even have a garden.  i did not grow up in a house surrounded by fresh cut flowers.  ours were of the silk variety.  (hey- it was the 80’s!)

i stumbled into floral design.  as a college student attending art school i decided to take a semester off and took a job at a flower shop.  i had no experience but the owner was not concerned and thought that as an art student, i would take to it naturally.  my first week on the job coincided with ucla’s rush week.  sorority sisters just love flowers - giving and receiving them. i was thrown into the deep end of the pool and simply loved it!  just like that, i knew that i had found my calling.

i have had an intimate relationship with flowers ever since.  in early 2007, along with a partner, i opened the acclaimed floral boutique birch, located in san francisco's laurel heights neighborhood.  but i was eager to start a business that was 100% my own vision and so i started rosenow floral design in the spring of 2008.  we specialize in creative arrangements of flowers that are simple and elegant.
